A Little History
In 1959 our Founder, Mr. Gerry Morgan started up the manufacture of steel furniture. At that time the provision of “Kitchen Sets” consisting of four chairs and one table were very much the fashion, and the factory supplied these items in quantity to retail stores throughout Ireland.
In the early 1960’s steel chairs and desks were in demand for school furniture and the firm expanded quickly by making classroom furniture for schools throughout the country. In 1969 the firm became a limited company under the direction of Gerry and his wife Joan who thankfully are still with us and take an active role to this day.
The manufacture of school furniture became the main stay of the company and sales expanded to the United Kingdom and we are proud to say also that some contracts were completed in the Middle East countries. In the 1970’s the company increased it’s manufacturing by engaging in the supply of office seating and desking and also in specialist contract furniture. We are today, probably the largest provider of school furniture in Ireland supplying all educational establishments from national schools to universities.
The company is now run under the direction of John and Bryan Morgan.
Current Situation
As a national scale supplier of furniture we have developed an effective logistical base to our business and are in a position to deliver the product from our main distribution facility in Drogheda, Co. Louth with ease and efficiency.
As a company we have gained this experience through over 30 years of contract supply of educational and office furniture to the Department of Education, County Councils, and the various Health Boards as well as to a large number of private commercial organisations.
All furniture supplied by G. Morgan & Sons Limited is designed and
manufactured to meet all appropriate standards issued by regulatory bodies.
It is the policy of the organisation to adhere to all appropriate Regulations
and Standards which impact on the products supplied by the company.
